It’s now nine losses in 12 games for the Toronto Raptors, as the injury bug and a serious lack of nigh-to-night continuity keeps on leaving the team close but just short. Another injury-bitten squad in the Memphis Grizzlies is in town tonight, just six days removed from being the unfortunate souls on the business end of the Raptors’ best half of basketball all year.
Memphis’ injuries aren’t as plentiful as Toronto, but their big one is definitely the most important between the two sides. Ja Morant was comfortably in “guy who should get some fifth-place MVP votes” territory before going down with a knee injury late last week; he’s out tonight, and for a long time to come.
So the injury explanation for Toronto’s recent rough spell won’t hold quite as much credence tonight. Here’s what you need to know as the Raptors look to pull to 10-12 on the year.
