Listen to That’s A Rap #46: He’s Heating Up!

Two months since capturing the ‘Ship and two months away from opening day, break the monotony of the off-season by catching the latest episode of That’s A Rap.

NBA: All Star-Practice Bob Donnan-USA TODAY Sports

Happy 65-days-since-the-Raptors-won-a-Championship! Man, this season is going to be quite the victory lap.

Last Summer, Toronto fans were itching to get the season started to see Kawhi Leonard in a Raptors uniform. This Summer, while there’s definitely a yearning to witness the franchise’s first ring ceremony, it’s also become apparent that Raps fans have been basking in the glory of a title.

In this week’s episode, we discussed Kyle Lowry’s future, the Raptors’ future (schedule), and a trip down memory lane FROM DOWNTOWN!

On This Week’s Episode:

Kyle Lowry recently joined the many (many!) NBA stars to drop out of Team USA participation. However, the bigger news — at least locally — was his recent comments about wanting to remain a Raptor for the rest of his career. What kind of salary would you pay to keep him?

While Lowry will miss the FIBA World Cup, there’s no way we were leaving him off our NBA Jam Toronto Raptors squad! Make sure to check out the first post in our NBA Jam series. How would a Lowry — Pascal Siakam pairing fare (with Serge Ibaka as the sub) against the rest of the NBA’s best duos?

Our man, Sully, did a great job breaking down the recently released 2019-20 schedule. We selected our “Games to Watch,” while also avoiding the obvious ones (i.e. Season Opener, Christmas). If you assume the top tier games sell out in seconds, which game would you target as a “Sleeper Must-Watch”?

3:05 - Kyle Lowry Over... Extension?

15:30 - “Is It The Shoes?”

35:30 - Hidden Gems in the NBA Schedule

38:00 - Dre, referring to Cousins: “If he’s healthy...” [insert sweating smiley face emoji]
