If you’re looking for another excuse to watch Kawhi Leonard’s miracle four-bounce game winner against Philadelphia in Game 7 of the 2019 Eastern Conference Semi-Finals, we have one for you!
The Shot is up for “Best Play” at the ESPY Awards this year:

— Toronto Raptors (@Raptors) July 3, 2019
Category: Best Play
Nominee: Kawhi Called Series

And, as the tweet above indicates, you can vote on the winner! Click here to have your say at ESPN.com.
Incidentally, Kawhi’s competition in this category are two plays from the NFL, and one from gymnastics. I’ll just go ahead and assume Kawhi will wash away his foes in this bracket the same way he washed away all challengers in the playoffs.
The Toronto Raptors themselves, by the way, are also up for Best Performance by a Team. You can vote on that one here.
Now, here’s where we point out that awards shows, by their nature, are terrible, and the ESPYs, as a byproduct of being part of a mega corporation that has a death grip on approximately 90% of all sports media, may be the worst of all.
But, it’s always nice to see your team and your players get recognized, isn’t it? So, vote away, and let’s see the Shot played out as many times as possible at this year’s ESPY Awards.
The show airs on ABC (no word yet on a specific Canadian broadcaster) on July 10 at 8:00 p.m. Your host this year is Tracy Morgan.
