Raptors vs. Wizards Game Thread: Updates, TV info, and more

New, comments

The All-Star Break is nearly here. Before that, let’s watch Jeremy Lin’s debut with the Raptors.

Oh, how things can change in one week. Before the trade deadline, the Raptors looked a bit stuck in the mud, as losses to Indiana, Houston, and Milwaukee exposed them for some sloppy play and lack of shooting.

Now, it seems like half the roster has shaken up. Marc Gasol is here and making wizard-like passes, as best seen in Monday’s win over the Nets. Now, Jeremy Lin’s plane has landed, as he quickly put pen to paper earlier today and will play against the Wizards tonight.

Lin’s arrival is even more well-timed considering the bad news about Fred VanVleet, whose injury timeline was pushed back to five weeks today. Clearly, there’ll be an opportunity for Linsanity to feature prominently and get some shots up.

Tonight, we’ll see it in action against the very depressing Washington Wizards. Without John Wall for a calendar year and sitting outside the playoff picture, the Wizards were left hanging on to their current roster after the deadline. Bradley Beal has a green light for miles, Trevor Ariza is still around, and Jeff Green is here to do... the things he does. At 24-33, the Wizards are not very fun to think about.

So yeah, Jeremy Lin! Happy thoughts. The Raptors head into All-Star Break after this game. Let’s celebrate, get into the details, and start the comments thread.
