That’s A Rap is a podcast by Raptor fans, for Raptor fans. Producer and creator of the pod, Jason Leung, co-host Andreas Babiolakis, and myself (Jay Rosales) recorded our first episode on July 18 (yes, the day Kawhi Leonard was traded to Toronto). Every week since, we’ve been discussing all things Raptors, while sprinkling in some news from around the league (Spill the Tea), and occasionally engaging in healthy debates (Jay vs. Dre).
We’re excited and thankful to be bringing the podcast over to Raptors HQ. In addition to the link at the bottom of this post, you can find “That’s A Rap” or “Raptors HQ” on all your pod-catchers (iTunes, Spotify, Stitcher, etc.). Without further ado, on to this week’s episode.
All-Star starters were announced and, while he’s number one in our hearts, Kawhi Leonard was not chosen first in our mock All-Star starter draft. How do you see the draft playing out?
With Dwyane Wade missing out as a starter and Victor Oladipo out for the season, does this open a spot or two for additional Raptors to join Leonard?
Speaking of Oladipo, it’s really unfortunate what happened to the star guard. He was the unquestioned leader of the over-achieving Pacers. Victor missed several games early this season with a sore left knee. We couldn’t help but compare his return from injury to how Toronto has managed Kawhi’s playing time.
Oladipo played fewer minutes post-injury but had played 20 consecutive games before his freak injury against the Raptors. Could this have been avoided with a load management plan?
James Harden has heard nothing but [NBA Jam voice] “He’s on fire” for weeks. Is he the new MVP favourite? The short-handed Rockets host the Raptors tonight. Does Toronto have an answer for the Beard?
