Today’s the day we’ve been waiting for. No more photo-shopped images of Kawhi Leonard (and Danny Green) in a Raptors jersey — they’re officially authentic. There will be plenty of these images popping up over the next few days stemming from this nearly 20 minute interview, however the big highlights will be around for a long time.
Highlight #1: Kawhi’s Jersey

Leonard is actually Superman, for those not in the know.
Highlight #2: Kawhi’s Laugh

This meme will be around even after the sun dies. This entire moment, generated by The Star’s Doug Smith, was a delight to watch. Leonard was asked to describe himself — a bold first question to ask the team’s newest superstar; one known to be an introvert, especially when in the public eye. He answered bluntly:
“I’m a fun guy. Obviously, I love the game of basketball.”
What transpired afterward was opposite of what most of the NBA crowd has seen of Leonard’s public persona. It was a rare glimpse that the city of Toronto will cherish all season. Here’s the clip of Smith’s question to Leonard, and the subsequent answer:

Highlight #3: Kawhi is Actually a Taoist

Never did I think we’d be getting philosophical today, but here we are — contemplating life after an answer from an NBA player. I think everyone paused in this moment to relish the duality in these words — simple but deep; an idea we may pass over daily without a second thought, which was the point of his answer.
Again, an angle of Kawhi’s personality the NBA crowd is experiencing for the first time.
Highlight #4: Danny Green is Actually a Motivational Speaker
Tip: Go listen to Green’s podcast, Inside the Green Room, and tell me he’s not an incredible orator. He showed himself to be no different in today’s interview, providing a light, comedic side dish to the tough questions beaming toward his friend and teammate Leonard.

It’s clear that Green knows Leonard better than anyone currently in Toronto, and the fact that Masai Ujiri was able to acquire the one player who Leonard seemed to trust in San Antonio, proves that he has big plans for the future of the Raptors.

Highlight #5: Masai is Done with Your BS Narratives
I can’t really add anything here because Ujiri says it all — and somehow does it with grace. Dear Leader, take it away:
