Good Vibes Only: Here’s a short ESPN video about the Raptors

Let’s forget about the recent losses, and reflect on the special journey we’ve all made with the Toronto Raptors.

When the Raptors are in the midst of their first two game losing streak since January 15th — and there’s a possibility of their first three-game losing streak of the season — times get tough. Toronto begins to panic and doubt, and we throw out all notions of success the team and fanbase once held. Is this illogical? Maybe. At the very least, it’s emotional.

So then what better time to unveil this nice little four minute and 50 second clip from ESPN, in which Adrian Wojnarowski, the official Raptors Whisperer, talks with the key figures in Toronto’s organization: Masai Ujiri, Dwane Casey, DeMar DeRozan, and Kyle Lowry.

I can’t embed the clip, but here, watch it and smile. What a journey we’ve been on.

Some snapshots: Masai wanted to build a championship team, Lowry once thought he was being traded, Casey was warned he’d get fired, DeRozan ended up in the middle of a lot of things. And yet, the entire franchise came together for this sustained run of success anyway. Wow.

This is, of course, all a preamble to SportsCenter and NBA Countdown, where presumably the fine folks at ESPN will discuss the Raptors’ rise at length.

Or they’ll just talk about how the Raps are currently imploding against top competition. It could be either or, really. Such a jagged journey indeed.
