Typically, the honour of playing the role of “spoiler” is reserved for crummy teams looking to milk the tiniest shred of meaning out of their already-finished seasons. The Raptors are very much not one of those teams. Today, though, they hold the position of would-be executioners of the visiting Los Angeles Clippers.
L.A. currently sits at the very back of The Clump in the middle of the Western Conference. In tenth place, with 34 losses — two back of the eighth-seeded Jazz, who never ever lose — the Clippers margin for error is close to non-existent. If Doc Rivers’ team can’t find a way to hand Toronto its seventh home loss of the year, it will all but lock in the first Clipper-less playoff bracket since 2010-11.
Joel Stephens has your full-ass preview here.
Now let’s watch and see if the Raptors can treat this Clippers season like it’s a group of InGen henchman running through long grass.
