The Magic have seemingly pulled their usual trick by surprising everyone with a semblance of competence out of the gate and then fading into irrelevance midway through the year. With a record of 3-7 in December they’re starting to lose contact with the rest of the teams in the Eastern playoffs race. Nikola Vucevic still looks brilliant, but his co-star Aaron Gordon has regressed and the rest of the Magic’s supporting cast is shaky and inconsistent at best.
That’s good news for the Raptors, who need any breaks they can get, waylaid as they are by their recent swath of injuries. Those injuries will continue to limit them this game, they’ll be without Kyle Lowry and Jonas Valanciunas once again.
Here is Ben Scott’s full preview for tonight’s game. Now let’s watch.
