Catch the Raptors in intra-squad scrimmage action on October 7

Toronto to play scrimmage at Ryerson; ticket proceeds to help send kids to camp

NBA: Toronto Raptors and Kawhi Leonard to play scrimmage at Ryerson Dan Hamilton-USA TODAY Sports

The 2018-19 NBA season is coming soon enough, but if you’d like to get a taste of what players go through to get ready for the grind, you’ll get your chance on October 7.

On that day, the Toronto Raptors will host an open practice, including an intrasquad scrimmage, at the Mattamy Athletic Centre (you may know it as Maple Leaf Gardens) here in Toronto.

Perhaps more importantly, the most important member of the Raptors himself will be there. No, not Kawhi Leonard. I mean, he’s kinda important. But The Raptor will be there! The first game I ever took my wife to, circa 2010, she was enthralled by The Raptor; I said, you know, he’s probably been the best part of this franchise for the past 15 years.

I was only partly joking.

Anyway! The best part about the open practice is that ticket sales will go towards the Ryerson Rams Care—Send Kids to Camp Campaign. The team is asking for a $20 donation per ticket.

Tickets are limited, obviously, and the max is two per person. You’ll need to hit up the Mattamy Athletic Centre Box Office (50 Carlton St., Toronto) in-person on October 4 at 1:30 p.m. to snag yours.
