The bromance stays together. In tonight’s announcement of who will play with NBA All-Star captains LeBron James and Steph Curry, both Kyle Lowry and DeMar DeRozan were selected by the latter.
This is the first year the NBA has moved to a playground style format for the All-Star Game. James and Curry made their picks earlier in the afternoon by a conference call, and the order was not revealed on tonight’s broadcast. It was kind of a bummer, and both players expressed it as such — this really should’ve been televised.
But, yes! Lowry and DeRozan will play together. It does mean we won’t get a Raptors fever dream of seeing them go against each other, but alas. They will, in all likelihood, play against their head coach, as the Raptors need just one win in their next seven games to secure Dwane Casey a spot coaching Team LeBron.
The NBA also revealed the All-Star jerseys, developed by Jordan Brand. They’re very monochromatic and very nice-looking.
The All-Star Game will be played February 18 in Los Angeles.
