It’s here: the 2017 NBA Draft! In 30 minutes, we’ll all be watching as our favourite team (including the Raptors) try to select the next superstar for their squad. (Or, if you’re a Knicks fan, you’ll just be hoping they don’t do anything too stupid in the next few hours.)
If you need a guide as to how to get through the night, Raptors HQ is ready.
And most importantly:
The 2017 NBA Draft class live tracker is here. Let’s watch!
Oh baby this intro is real dope.
Adam Silver the only commissioner in professional sports to not get booed?
1. Markelle Fultz
We *officially* found out about this selection from Stein at 7:11pm
Inside 30 minutes to go before the Sixers officially make Markelle Fultz the No. 1 overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft. At 7:37 PM-ish ...— Marc Stein (@ESPNSteinLine) June 22, 2017
WHOA! EARLY TRADE SCOOP FROM STEIN:
The Wolves are close to acquiring Jimmy Butler from Chicago, according to league sources— Marc Stein (@ESPNSteinLine) June 22, 2017
Gotta guess there’s a pick swap here, and LaVine along with some salary filler...
K.C. Johnson has the official deets:
The Bulls are getting Zach LaVine, Kris Dunn and the 7th pick, per sources. Bulls keep 16th pick.— K.C. Johnson (@KCJHoop) June 22, 2017
Time to dump Dwyane Wade on Brooklyn, but what a heist for the T-Wolves. They might actually make the playoffs next year!!
2. Lonzo Ball to the Lake Show
LaVar spoke it into existence, and now it has come true. Truly shocked LaVar didn’t bum rush the stage.
How much would you pay to sit beside the Ball fam at a Laker game?
LAVAR HAS GUARANTEED PLAYOFFS. Jalen Rose is very excited.
3. Celtics are selecting Jayson Tatum at #3
Trader Danny passed up on Jimmy Butler to selected this Dookie, so Celtics nation can be a 4th seed in the East in 2022.
....welp, Ainge may have had this plan to pass on Butler all along:
Indiana and Boston are engaged in serious talks on a Paul George trade, league sources tell @TheVertical.— Adrian Wojnarowski (@WojVerticalNBA) June 22, 2017
4. Meanwhile, Phoenix is holding to form and grabbing Josh Jackson with the next pick, per American Harsh Dave, Shams:

5. Sacramento is selecting the utterly delightful De’Aaron Fox
The Sacramento Kings will select De'Aaron Fox with the No. 5 pick, league source tells @TheVertical.— Adrian Wojnarowski (@WojVerticalNBA) June 22, 2017
There was a lot of scuttlebutt that the Kings might try to wait on Fox to slide even lower to them at 10, but they make the safe choice here with the fastest prospect in the draft.
6. The devoid of any talent Orlando Magic are taking Jonathan Isaac
Jeff Weltman makes his first selection in what is gonna be a hell of a rebuilding project down in Disney World.
Isaac has a ton of length though, Mr. Wingspan if that’s what you’re down for.
7. Lauri Markkanen
LOLOLOLOOLOLOLOLOLOL BULLS WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!
RIP BARSTOOL BIG CAT.
8. Frank Ntilinkina goes to the New York Dumpster Fire
With Phil’s handpicked Porzingis replacement off the board, they select the next best Euro. Then again, Phil may have been asleep, and Steve Mills made this pick.
9. Dennis Smith Jr. falls to the Mavs, and they got a good one
This dude is a stud.
PAUL GEORGE TRADE UPDATE:
Muahahahahaha, Trader Danny is so afraid to part with assets it’s comical. He’s the next person on TLC’s hoarders.
TRADE ALERT, TRADE ALERT
Sacramento is trading the No. 10 pick to Portland for Nos. 15 and 20 in draft, league sources tell @TheVertical.— Adrian Wojnarowski (@WojVerticalNBA) June 23, 2017
And with that...
Portland is selecting white boy off the bench from Gonzaga, Zach Collins at 10
I mean sure? With Malik Monk on the board I don’t get it.
In Bulls talks with Celtics regarding Butler, Celtics refused to offer No. 3 or next year's Nets pick, per source.— K.C. Johnson (@KCJHoop) June 23, 2017
I just don’t get it man.
11. MJ heard me, and he’s taking Malik Monk
Real excited for the Monk-Dwight PnR....
12. Stan Van is taking Luke Kennard from Duke at 12
And if he didn’t go to Duke, I think he’d just be another guy. PJ Dozier is better.
13. Utah makes a NIFTY TRADE. Good on ‘em
Utah will send Trey Lyles and the No. 24 pick to Denver for No. 13, league source tells @TheVertical.— Adrian Wojnarowski (@WojVerticalNBA) June 23, 2017
Sasky’s adopted son Trey Lyles joins good ol’ Kitchener boy Jamal Murray in Denver.
Donovan Mitchell has a 6’10 wingspan at barely 6’4, he’s gonna be a stud.
14. WHAM BAM THANK YOU MAM! Adebayo goes to the Miami Mafia

This is nifty. Jackson can be a day one starter for the Kings if they so choose. The entire team is gonna be the Summer League roster too. Championship or bust.
DANNY AINGE HAS SCREWED THE POOCH AGAIN. LET’S REJOICE!

JV TRADE UPDATE:
Sad, but can’t say it’s a surprise...
Raps still shopping JV and 23, market slow to develop as of now.— Michael Grange (@michaelgrange) June 23, 2017
THERE WILL BE NO LEAF IN TORONTO!!!! Indiana snags TJ Leaf at 18:
19. Atlanta will take John Collins
Dude went from being a bit player at Wake Forest in his freshman year, to averaging nearly 20 & 10 this past season. A good piece for the ATL rebuild.
Presented without comment:
20. Harry Giles makes it off the board! Sacramento continues their very good night taking a shot on Giles.

Tom Crean was apparently killing him on the Vertical draft show, be thankful Masai and co. didn’t fall for his shooting. Good doesn’t outweigh the bad!
25. Always Trust the Process
Sources: Philadelphia is acquiring Orlando's 25th pick to select Anžejs Pasečņiks.— Shams Charania (@ShamsCharania) June 23, 2017

Swanigan was absolute monster at Purdue last year, and he loves it when you call him Big Papa.
27. Kyle Kuuuuuuuuuzma to the Big Ballakers
Lakers are selecting Utah's Kyle Kuzma with the No. 27 pick in the NBA Draft, league sources say.— Shams Charania (@ShamsCharania) June 23, 2017
28. The Lakers won’t keep their next pick, selecting Tony Bradley and sending it to the Utah Jazz
Bradley is the first UNC One & Done in a loooooooong time, and he has potential to be a monster down low.
29. Spurs get a dude who was rising up draft boards and slipped to the end of the 1st round. Drink.
