The Raptors 905 received some bad news on Monday, as small forward Will Sheehey will be out for the rest of the season and the playoffs with a dislocated right elbow. The injury happened in last Saturday’s game, which Sheehey had to leave immediately.
Losing Sheehey is a huge blow to the 905 as they start their championship run April 4th. This could mean more minutes for Antwaine Wiggins most likely; and it will probably put Axel Toupane into the starting role.
Sheehey has been a huge and consistent part of the 905’s rotation. In 38 games he was averaging 10.3 points, 2.0 assists and 3.3 rebounds while shooting 48.5% from the field and 35.2% from three.
The 905 have prided themselves on team depth and using a team effort to win. It will now be put to the test as the 905’s wing depth just took a big hit right before playoffs. There are just two regular season games left before the post-season.
In any case, best of luck to Sheehey in his recovery.
