Axel Toupane of the Raptors 905 Named D-League All-Star

He’s a late replacement, but still, this is cool.

With the D-League All-Star team announced a week ago, the Raptors 905 Axel Toupane is late to the party. Still, due to all three of Yogi Ferrell, Ray McCallum and Chris McCollough making it to the NBA, Toupane has been given the call that he’s a D-League All-Star.

Check it:

Toupane have been arguably the best player on the 905 and hands down the most consistent. This season Toupane is averaging 16.1 points, 3.9 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.3 steals per game. Toupane’s shooting has also been better this season as he is currently averaging 48.9% from the field and 31.7% from beyond the arc. Keep in mind, Toupane has been coming off the bench for the 905, and doing all of this as the 905’s stabilizing force in that role.

Toupane will be joining Walter ‘Edy’ Tavares and John Jordan, who is looking to defend his dunk contest trophy, as well as the Raptors 905 coaching staff. It seems likely that whatever injury had kept Toupane sidelined the past couple of games is a thing of the past. Go get’em Axel!
