I suppose we should be happy the Raptors don’t have to make this west coast road trip over the Christmas and New Year’s break. That’s historically when it’s happened, and the team has usually suffered for it. The hope is always to make it to .500 on the road and blame the losses on the schedule. That’s where we are now as the Raptors prepare to take on the Utah Jazz in 30 minutes. Toronto is 2-3 on the trip and just wants to even the score.
Fortunately, this is the Jazz we’re talking about here. Toronto has won the last three contests between these two teams, and each game has featured a fantastic outing from Kyle Lowry. I like to refer specifically to the Dec. 23, 2016 game, when Lowry basically said enough is enough and buried the Jazz by himself.
The Raptors just came off a brutal loss against Denver, and Lowry hasn’t quite looked like himself for most of the season. Is he due? Are the Raptors due?
My guess: look out Utah.
