Listen: The Limited Upside Podcast talks the Raptors and their fortunes

Host Mike Prada of SB Nation had Seerat Sohi and Daniel Reynolds on his podcast to preview the Raptors upcoming season. Have a listen!

As we tumble towards the start of the 2017-18 NBA season — on October 17th! — there is much talking and previewing and predicting to be done. Today on the Limited Upside Podcast, hosted by SB Nation’s Mike Prada, the Toronto Raptors had their turn in the sun.

Joined by Seerat Sohi (of the Athletic, lately, and the Internet, generally), and yours truly (just call me the ramblin’ man), Prada led a discussion through a bunch of Raptors topics in advance of their season.

We talked about:

1. The mood — in a literal word! — of the Raptors' fanbase.

2. The team’s decision to stay the course with their core.

3. The proper rating and assessment of DeMar DeRozan and Kyle Lowry.

And more!

(Including one devilish question of “would you rather?” between Jonas Valanciunas and Norman Powell. You’ll have to listen to find out what the hell I’m talking about.)

There were also questions taken from the Twitter audience, and a bunch of predictions made at the end. If you’re looking for more Raptors talk, well, look no more. (But also, keep looking because we’ll have our own HQ preview podcast at some point in the next couple weeks. Thanks.)

One final note, an open question: I was asked on the pod to name my “banana boat” Raptors, e.g. the three Raptors (from throughout history!) that I’d like to take with me on a vacation a la the famous LeBron/Paul/Wade photo of yore. I answered with Charles Oakley, Lucas Nogueira, and Matt Bonner after much hemming and hawing, but there are certainly better answers.

Who would be your three vacation-ready Raptors? Let us know in the comments!
