Jerry Stackhouse named D-League Coach of the Month

Stackhouse continues his run atop the list of “dudes you do not want to mess with.”

It’s just been announced today that Raptors 905 head coach Jerry Stackhouse was named the NBA D-League Coach of the Month for December. It’s an award made all the more remarkable by the fact that Dwane Casey, coach of the Raptors, just won this award too, which is apparently the first time it’s happened.

Some stats from the month:

The stats don’t lie. Stackhouse, a first-time head coach, has kept his team on the up-and-up, even as the roster’s main assignees (Fred VanVleet, Bruno Caboclo, and Jakob Poeltl) have found themselves in and out of the 905 quite a bit. On top of that, the team’s presumptive starting point guard Delon Wright has been out since the summer due to injury. That the team currently sits at 12-7 (owing to a recent 3-game slide) is no minor feat.

Congrats to Coach Stack, may he stay mean-mugging on the sidelines for a good long while.
