Regardless of how you feel about DeMar DeRozan the player, the vote of confidence he gave the organization in not booking any other meetings and re-signing with the Raptors within the first 3 hours of free agency has to be looked on as a feel-good story for the fanbase.
And now it's paid off with a deal:

If the $139 million figure is daunting to you, keep in mind Timofey Mozgov got $65 million over 4 years and Bradley Beal just got ~$130 million over 5. In terms of traditional cap numbers, DeRozan's contract looks pretty fair:
