DeMar DeRozan, who helped lead the Toronto Raptors to the Eastern Conference Finals for the first time while posting averages of 23.5 points, 4 assists, and 4.5 rebounds per game, with a PER of 21.58, has officially opted out of his contract. He will hit the open market with many potential suitors vying for his services.
Raptors G DeMar DeRozan has officially opted out and is a free agent, league sources informed @clevelanddotcom. His deadline was June 15.

As an unrestricted free agent, he will be able to sign with whichever team best suits his needs. Will the Raptors be able to offer him the best deal? Will he return to Los Angeles (his hometown) and join either the Clippers or Lakers? DeRozan was a two time All-Star for Toronto.
Time will tell, but at first glance this isn't great news for the Raptors.
