Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face. Or something like that. As a Game 1 assessment, this seems fair. The Raptors probably spent most of Monday planning and thinking about how they would take it to the Cleveland Cavaliers. They'd stay close to 3-point shooters and attack Kevin Love in the pick-and-roll and try to body up LeBron James as best as possible. It would be tough, but they'd stick to the plan.
Until they got punched in the face and everything came undone. Afterwards, the Raptors tried to summarize what had happened and shake it off for Game 2. Here are those takes.
First, from the podium, here are Dwane Casey, followed by DeMar DeRozan and Kyle Lowry:
A demoralized Patrick Patterson (and his dope-as-hell gold chain) weighs in:
Not to be outdone, DeMarre Carroll rocks a killer headband and talks about 1-on-1 defense:
And finally, Bismack Biyombo remains calm:
The Raptors aren't making excusing, they know they have to be better. Game 2 is tomorrow.
Let's see what happens.
