Tonight, your Toronto Raptors look to build on their most successful season in franchise history by going for win 51 on the road against the severely depleted Memphis Grizzlies.
You can play along with this and the other nine games on tonight's jam-packed NBA slate by joining one of the many one-day fantasy basketball tournaments available on FanDuel. You can even win some real cash in the process.
Here's how:
- Click here to enter the contest we're promoting tonight. It only costs $2 to play, the top 33,900 entries win an immediate cash payout, and first place walks away with a cool $25,000.
- If you're not sure how FanDuel works, check out our initial post on the partnership from the start of the season.
Since some of us like having some rooting interest in our fantasy lineups, here's our preferred Raptors play for the tonight's slate:
Norman Powell ($3,900)
With 50 wins and another division title locked up, there's a decent chance that Dwane Casey opts to rest guys during at least one of the games in this weekend's back-to-back set in Memphis and San Antonio. With rest games possible from here on out, it's hard to trust either of Kyle Lowry or DeMar DeRozan going forward on any given night. Always keep an eye on the injury report before fantasy lineups lock and try to find all the value you can when said rest games occur (like grabbing Cory Joseph at the minimum salary when he starts for a resting Lowry, for instance).
In the meantime, one guy who is highly unlikely to be rested at this point in his career is Norman Powell, who is enjoying a bit of a breakout right now. Norm has scored in double figures in four straight appearances, while averaging 14.0 points, 4.8 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 0.8 steals, 0.8 blocks, and 1.5 turnovers in a healthy 31.4 minutes per contest. That's good for 23.5 fantasy points per game over that span, which is gravy from a near-minimum salary guy.
Roll with Powell for as long as he's starting and putting up such serviceable numbers. His upside is even higher on nights when the team rests a high usage guy like Kyle or DeMar, so keep that in mind as well.
Now, let's head on down to the comment section and construct some winning lineups together!
Editor's Note: SB Nation's partner FanDuel is running a $300,000 fantasy basketball league tonight. It's $2 to enter and first place wins $25,000. Join now!
