Though many of us spent the off-season expecting Patrick Patterson to be the starting power forward, it appears that role will be up for grabs at Toronto Raptors training camp. At media day today, coach Dwane Casey emphasized that they'll give the spot to the player that fits best with Jonas Valanciunas, and not necessarily base the decision on talent.

Even with this statement, Patterson's ability to spread the floor should make him an obvious frontcourt foil for the paint-dominating Valanciunas. Luis Scola has entered the conversation, though, along with someone else...?
Is he committing to James Johnson? https://t.co/PxCkMlEtKt

That's humour, people. James Johnson will not start over Scola and Patterson.
