Raptors 905 snag rights to 16 players in NBA D-League Expansion Draft

Here are some of the players who will potentially fill out the Raptors 905 roster.

Gary A. Vasquez-USA TODAY Sports

It's not as glamorous as the official NBA Draft, but it still counts. Raptors 905 announced today that they've acquired the rights to 16 players in the NBA D-League expansion draft. Since a roster can only have 12 players--and the 905 presumably already have at least a spot or two filled already--not all the names below will make the team.

Still, Raptors 905 will have the rights to these players for the next two years:

Now, what does that asterisk mean? I'm glad you asked. Those are the players with some NBA experience. The names most likely to jump out are Dahntay Jones (last seen being cast into oblivion by Draymond Green) and Earl Clark (played with Kobe). It's some august company.

What will become of these players? Who will actually make the team? Time will tell.

What do you guys think of the picks?

(Note: This piece has been edited to correctly state that an NBA D-League roster can have 12 players, not 15.)
