In retrospect, we probably should have put up a game thread for yesterday's Pan Am Games classic (words from an announcer, not mine, don't shoot the messenger) between Canada and the U.S., which went to overtime with the home team emerging victorious thanks to 31 points from Andrew Nicholson and Jamal Murray becoming a human We The North flag in the fourth quarter and overtime:
But then again, it was late July, and a Friday night, and who is really watching these games? Actually I did, and I'm curious as to how many people are tuning into this tournament to see players like Murray, to get mesmerized by Sim Bhullar's farmer's tan, and well, that's kind of my top two right there.
Anyways, we vanquished the mighty American Big Three of Denzel Valentine, Anthony Randolph and Bobby Brown (this is the favorite sentence I've ever written now, until Randolph appears again on another team), and this afternoon at 4:30, the Canadians take on Brazil in the gold medal game.
Discuss away.
PS. You think Samuel Dalembert has Team Canada FOMO?
