Masai Ujiri added another Summer Leaguer to the Raptors roster on Thursday, signing Axel Toupane to compete for a spot in training camp.
Toupane didn't get a ton of run in Vegas, but was a solid contributor to Strasbourg in the top tier of the French league last season. As a 6'9" and 205 pound forward, Toupane averaged 18.5 minutes in 42 games while scoring 7.5 points and grabbing 2.5 boards a game.
There are no complete highlight tapes on YouTube of Toupane, so he's a bit of a mystery. Here's a video of him draining a three in a playoff game in France:
As per usual, the Raptors beat reporters weighed in with some additional details on the signing:
Raps sign Michale Kyser/Axel Toupane to partially guaranteed deals. They'll compete for 15th spot w/Roberts in camp, could end up in DLeague

Add F Michale Kyser and G-F Axel Toupane to ever-growing list of #Raptors. They've signed, roster at 17 and maybe they'll enjoy Mississauga

What do you guys think of Axel Toupane (and his badass name)?
