With free agency season about to get into full swing, TNT's David Aldridge reports that unrestricted free agent Al-Farouq Aminu will visit the Toronto Raptors, along with five other teams.
An under the radar free agent will be Dallas' Al-Faroqu Aminu. Sked to visit NYK, BOS, POR, TOR & NOP, w/Mavs still in mix.

Aminu has spent his first five years in the league with the Clippers, Pelicans, and, most recently, the Mavericks. Last season with Dallas, he averaged 5.6 points, 4.6 rebounds, 0.8 assists, 0.9 steals, and 0.8 blocks in 14 minutes per game. Earlier this week, he opted out of his contract option for next season, making him an unrestricted free agent.
At 6'9" and 215 pounds, a quick guide to Aminu is that he is the anti-Terrence Ross. He too is a top ten draft pick, having gone 8th in 2010. He too is a touted "3-and-D" player, but is missing the "3" more than the "D", shooting just 27% from range but leading Dallas in DBPM. He prefers a slashing style of offence, with 75% of his attempts last season coming within three feet of the basket.
Masai Ujiri's interest in Aminu is obvious, given the moves already made this summer. After flipping Greivis Vasquez for Delon Wright with two draft night moves, Aminu would give defensive depth to the Raptors small forward spot. He also could be had on the cheap, having made under $1 million last season.
What are your thoughts on Aminu and this possible acquisition?
