Prior to Sunday's Game 1, Masai Ujiri addressed the fans outside Air Canada Centre and had some colorful language prepared for the second straight year, this time directed at Paul Pierce. There was a price to pay for delivering a sequel.
Per an official NBA.com release:
Toronto Raptors General Manager Masai Ujiri has been fined $35,000 for using obscene language in a public setting on Saturday, April 18 prior to the Raptors' playoff game against the Washington Wizards, it was announced Sunday by NBA Commissioner Adam Silver.
In addition, the Toronto Raptors organization has been fined $25,000.
As Pierce said after Game 1, he is a little bit better at the psychological war than the Raptors.
