Raptors vs. Nuggets: Pre-Game Notes

A couple things from Dwane Casey's pre-game scrum.

Dale Zanine-USA TODAY Sports

As you settle in to watch the Raptors take on the Nuggets in a seemingly winnable game, here are a few notes on Dwane Casey's pre-game media availability.

Lowry is good to go

By now, you know what Kyle Lowry did last night. Battling a flu bug, Lowry dropped a franchise-record 22 points in the fourth to spearhead a 39-20, game-clinching frame for Toronto in Atlanta. Asked how Lowry's feeling, Casey said "Kyle's fine ... I think he had a bad piece of shrimp or something."

Resting guys out of the question

On the second half of a back-to-back against one of the West's worst teams, with Golden State coming up, and Lowry one day removed from throwing up at half time, it could be argued that the Raptors should give their star point guard the night off. Dwane Casey shot that down though:

I'm worried about the Denver Nuggets. I'm not even thinking about Golden State. We're not in a position think about anybody else ... My message is to be a big time program, we've got to be consistent ... We just don't want to win one game and get all happy with that and start thinking about resting guys, and then in comes Denver who's a very capable young team - who had Chicago on the ropes last night -  and come in and spank you.

James Johnson back in the line-up

Casey also mentioned that he expects to have James Johnson available tonight after he missed last night's game with a sore Achilles.
