They've been inseparable since joining the Raptors. The two Brazilians: Bruno Caboclo and Lucas "Bebe" Nogueira, partners in crime and comedy. They've both spent most of their time in Toronto riding the pine, but now, with bright eyes, they're off to a new adventure in Mississauga.
Raptors to send Caboclo, Nogueira to the 905s to open D-League season on the weekend. Let the era begin— Doug Smith: Raptors (@SmithRaps) November 13, 2015
With Raptors 905 beginning their NBADL season tomorrow night in Fort Wayne, Bruno and Bebe have been assigned to the team. As assignment players, they will join a roster headlined by 7'5" behemoth Sim Bhullar and training camp invites Michale Kyser and Axel Toupane. High flyer Ronald Roberts is also expected to join the team in the near future, rounding out the roster of 14 players.
Of course, the flip side of the coin for the Raptors is the loss of two warm bodies on their bench. With injuries to DeMarre Carroll (day-to-day) and Terrence Ross (out indefinitely), just 11 healthy players remain on the big league team. So, gird your loins and prepare for more Anthony Bennett at small forward.
As assignment players, Bruno and Bebe can be recalled and sent down from the D-League at any time during the season. You can watch 905's first game on Saturday at 5 p.m. EST on YouTube. What a time to be alive.
