It's Always Sunny [Against] Philadelphia: Raptors Host 76ers On Wednesday Night

A meeting with the 7-30 Philadelphia 76ers could be just what the doctor ordered for the struggling Raptors. Maybe. Well, it should be.

It's clearly not the worst stretch we've ever seen, but five losses in six games for the Raptors is still cause for concern.

No need to fear, though. All-Star DeMar DeRozan and his 19.4 points could be back in the lineup tonight as the Philadelphia 76ers visit the Air Canada Centre. If he isn't in uniform for this little soirée, he most certainly will be on Friday against the No. 1 seed Atlanta Hawks.

Here's hoping he brings with him a remedy for the Raptors' defensive woes. They've given up 112.8 points in their last five games, including 114 to the Detroit Pistons in a heartbreaking 114-111 loss on Monday night.

The 76ers and their league-worst offense that's averaging 90.5 points will be without guard Tony Wroten. He sprained his right knee in a losing effort to the Hawks on Tuesday. He leads the team in scoring with 16.9 points.

The last time these two squads squared off, the Raptors stomped a mudhole and walked it dry on route to a 120-88 victory on Nov. 9. DeRozan led all scorers with 24, while Lou Williams chipped in 16 off the bench.

And James Johnson nearly killed a guy.

We've reached the point where no game should be considered a "surefire win." As long as Toronto continues to put up pitiful defensive numbers, they'll leave themselves prone to trap games and losses to inferior competition.

Philadelphia is on the second night of a back-to-back while missing their leading scorer. The Raptors also have yet to fall to any team in the Atlantic Division this season.

Perfect recipe for success.

I hope.
