It sort of cracks me up that tonight's game is a big contest and perhaps a must-win game for the Toronto Raptors.
I mean, they're playing the Atlanta Hawks, a club that's exactly .500, has lost six of its last 10 games, and features NBA superstars like Kyle Korver, DeMarre Carroll and Mike Scott.
Granted, Paul Millsap and Jeff Teague have been very solid for ATL, but no one's confusing this club with the Indiana Pacers or Oklahoma City Thunder any time soon.
But here we are on the eve of the NBA's annual All-Star break, the Toronto Raptors, not exactly on fire themselves of late, and looking to put some more distance between themselves and the other clubs fighting for third place in the Eastern Conference. The Hawks despite their lack of "name power" represent one of the top threats so indeed, this is a bit of an important match all of a sudden, one that Toronto can't afford to take quarters off.
GO RAPS!
