Let's say it better: $4.6M was size of TPE that Toronto created in Rudy Gay deal. It expires today. Raps, I'm told, likely to let it expire— Marc Stein (@ESPNSteinLine) December 10, 2014
Trade exception Raps created in deal that sent Rudy Gay to Sacramento previously helped TOR absorb contracts of Chuck Hayes and John Salmons— Marc Stein (@ESPNSteinLine) December 10, 2014
Not surprising, as the trade market is still developing this early in the season, and even with DeMar DeRozan's injury, the Raptors still sit comfortably atop the Atlantic Division.
And as I noted last week, the Gay trade ended up helping the Raptors secure three key contributors to their bench: Greivis Vasquez, Patrick Patterson and Lou Williams. Not a bad swap, all things considered.
