Greivis Vasquez Helps Launch the "Learn to Dribble" Program Tomorrow

Greivis Vasquez and the Raptors development coaches launch four week program to develop basketball in local schools

John E. Sokolowski-USA TODAY Sports

A bunch of lucky kids at Market Lane Public School will be included in the launch of the "Learn to Dribble" program tomorrow, featuring super-sub Greivis Vasquez.

As per the team press release:

"Learn to Dribble is a four-week basketball program that visits elementary schools across the GTA, teaching children from grades three to six the fundamentals of the sport. Upon completion of the Learn to Dribble program, students and teachers are given the tools and equipment needed to run sustainable basketball programs at their schools. Learn to Dribble is a part of the Toronto Raptors ongoing commitment to promote the growth of basketball in Canada."

So as General Greivis puts the kids through some introductory drills and explains the rules of basketball, the team is also able to build local interest in both the team and the sport as a whole.

I only wish this would've been a program when I was a kid!
