The Raptors fell to 1-1 in preseason last night, losing 113-106 in their second straight game against Sacramento.
Kyle Lowry and DeMar DeRozan both played 24 minutes and were both in mid-season form. DeRozan scored 23 points on nine of 15 shooting, while Lowry kept pace with his backcourt mate with 25 points including five three-pointers and this ridiculous circus shot:
Tyler Hansbrough hit another three-pointer, so it seems like resisting the #PSYCHO3 movement is futile at this point. The Raptors allowed 32 points in the second quarter and 33 points in the third, so the defense needs some brushing up.
But, we did get the preseason debut of Bruno Caboclo and it was quite an adventure. The following videos are from TSN's Josh Lewenberg. First, Bruno showed off his length with a block on Omri Casspi:
In the fourth quarter, we got a bit of a scare when Bruno took a hard fall going for a rebound. He was helped to the bench but did stay in the game, hitting two late three-pointers for his six points in 15 minutes of play.
I still think Bruno will spend most of his rookie season in the D-League, but it would be nice to see more of him during the pre-season to get a feel of what his raw athleticism can do against NBA competition right now.
Next up: the Boston Celtics on Friday.
