This has been a weird season in many ways.
The Toronto Raptors weren't supposed to be very good, and the Brooklyn Nets weren't supposed to be very bad.
However the opposite has been true for the bulk of the season with the Dinos surging towards a top three spot in the Eastern Conference and the Nets dwelling in not only the East, but the NBA's basement.
Until recently that is.
Despite losing Brook Lopez for the season due to injury, and injury issues with point guard Deron Williams, the Nets finally look to be living up to their pre-season hype winning five straight including last night's big overtime win against the Miami Heat.
Granted the Heat were missing several key players including Dwyane Wade, but nevertheless, this Nets team is suddenly only three games back of the Raps for the Atlantic Division lead.
So suddenly tonight's match has become a pretty important contest and on top of that, hey...it's Drake Night at the Air Canada Centre!! Ironically Drake isn't supposed to be in attendance but you can bet there will be lots of "Started from the Bottom" references for both of these clubs this evening.
Our own Kayla Grey throws in one as background beats in fact as she previews tonight's contest:
