Update: Looks like it's a done deal. According to Yahoo! Sports, the Raptors have come to terms with Tyler Hansbrough. Details of the contract have yet to be released. Doug Smith reports it's a 2 year deal
Update 2: According to Holly Mackenzie, the Raptors have signed Hansbrough at $3 Million per year, with a team option for the 2nd year.
ESPN's Marc Stein is reporting that the Raptors are very much interested in Unrestricted Free Agent, Tyler Hansbrough, formerly of the Indiana Pacers.
What?
Well, if Masai Ujiri pulls this off, we're looking at possibly one of the toughest front courts in the NBA with Jonas Valanciunas, Hansbrough, and Amir Johnson manning the court most nights with Quincy Acy being the fourth guy you would need to face up against.
Keep in mind that neither Rudy Gay or DeMar DeRozan will set the league on fire with their shooting, and you can see the logic in loading up in front court bodies.
I know Hansbrough isn't exactly a finesse player, but he does get away with a lot, and as we saw in some epic battle last year, isn't afraid to go toe-to-toe with players bigger than him, such as Jonas.
Perhaps a mutual respect grew between the two players.
