Out of the limelight.

Bryan Colangelo officially made things a lot more crystal in the Raptors organization by stepping down as president of team and business operations into a consulting role today.

The Raptors already had Wayne Embry as a consultant, so the consultant positions seem to be a bit full at MLSE. However, with Colangelo out of the picture, there is now a clear hierarchy that starts with Tim Leiweke and goes down to Masai Ujiri, no questions asked.

Bryan Colangelo stated that after some time to think, he felt that this was the best course of action for himself and the organization. We will have more thoughts in the coming days about Bryan Colangelo's tenure.

The rumour around the NBA was that MLSE was asked to retain Colangelo until he could find a more suitable position in the NBA. As Tim Leiweke made very clear from day one, the Raptors would be going in a new direction and that he would be leading the effort, not Colangelo.
