Toronto Raptors vs Detroit Pistons

March 29, 2013

Sportsnet One - 7:30 PM EST

Not everyone thinks the Toronto Raptors should tank the rest of their season.

And I get that to a certain extent.

We had a great discussion about the topic yesterday after I posted rather "tankish" recap of the Dinos' Wednesday night loss to the Atlanta Hawks, and I see the other side of this too.

In the end, whether the team wins tonight or loses, I think we can all agree that it matters little. As much as I hope to see the team bottom out and get a shot at retaining their pick, it's still a fairly long shot and if the team does win, it hardly impacts the club next season.

However it would be good to see the rooks continue to get some run, and hey, as Sasha noted this morning, a line-up of Pietrus, Kleiza, Acy, Gray and Telfair would be amusing, especially if you're looking indeed to see the team tank.

Because this one is a biggie in that regard, and I'm not talking about the Pistons getting Andre Drummond back. The Raps trail the Pistons by a few games, so a loss to them tonight could go a long ways towards holding onto their lottery pick.

Lucas is off tonight so myself and a new Liveblog Leader, Mohammed, will be holding down the fort.
