ESPN reports Bulls considering Boozer for Bargnani deal

There's no confirmation that such a deal is imminent, but the Bulls seem to be considering a trade that would see Carlos Boozer dealt to the Raptors for Andrea Bargnani.

If such a deal were to take place, the Raptors would be hard pressed to unload contracts in order to make room for Boozer's salary, unless the Raptors are willing to enter into tax territory, adding another $5 million to the Raptors payroll, putting them right up to the $70.3 million

If the Raptors make this deal, it will be for a power forward who has a history of injuries, a la Jermaine O'Neal. On the other hand, it will allow the Raptors to end the Andrea Bargnani era.

Bargnani posted solid numbers in his return to the lineup last night. Shooting at 50% in under 24 minutes of play, Andrea gave the Raptors another option off the bench. Carlos Boozer has seen his rebounding numbers return to his traditional averages. Boozer has two more years on his contract, and is back loaded to go up to $16.8 million in his final year.
