Prior to the Toronto Raptors' stretch of games against some of the top teams in the West, many, myself included, predicted that the TANK would be in full effect.. The guess was that the club would get blown out against the likes of the Mavericks, Thunder and Spurs, and GM Masai Ujiri would let the next domino fall.
But then Toronto won. And won again. And won again. And hung tough with the San Antonio Spurs.
So much for a tankish Christmas.
Instead, with matches against the New York Knicks tonight and tomorrow, and the struggling Chicago Bulls right after that, this might suddenly mean a .500 basketball team by January, an almost unthinkable thought just two weeks ago.
The Knicks might be without Carmelo Anthony (sprained ankle) tonight and let's face it, even with him, they haven't exactly been crushing their opponents this season.
Kenneth Tan is on the mic tonight as I'll be at the last of our family's holiday bashes.
Take it away Kenneth!
