Media Day is Monday.
Training camp in Halifax starts the following day for the Toronto Raptors.
Yes, the season is about to begin.
It's a season of hope too for a change, with Raptors upgrading their line-up this off-season without completely mortgaging the future. (A nice change.)
One such upgrade is the addition of center Jonas Valanciunas. Valanciunas has been viewed as one of the top five prospects to come out of the past two drafts, and therefore potentially a nice building block for this franchise.
However his impact won't be felt right away.
As is the case with most rookies, it will likely take him some time to adjust to the NBA game, and on top of this, thanks to an injury during informal workouts last week, he may be a bit behind the curve when the season starts.
The National Post's Eric Koreen reported yesterday that Jonas was out of his walking boot and shooting around with the team, so it sounds like he should be good to go.
And it seems like he's already making inroads with his new teammates, recently going to dinner with various new members of the Raptors, all the while in full Robocop mode.
But what will Jonas bring to the club this season?
For our full breakdown, Scott Campsall previews Mr. Valanciunas in the final of our series of RaptorsHQ off-season video breakdowns:
