Video - RaptorsHQ Men's Olympic Basketball Recap

Now the off-season REALLY gets going.

With the US defeating Spain yesterday morning to capture the Gold Medal in Men's Basketball, we now enter a period of non-ball for the next couple months, until NBA training camps launch into action for the 2012-13 season.

Luckily for Raptors' fans, the past two weeks gave us a chance to see a little extended ball, as three members of the Dinos saw action for their national programs in said Olympics.

This morning the HQ takes a look back at the action via video, as Franchise, Scott and Ray dig into the respective performances of Jose Calderon, Linas Kleiza, and of course, Jonas Valanciunas:

As well, a few Olympic links if you haven't seen them yet.

Yahoo! Sports looks at the performance of Jonas Valanciunas, Raptorblog touches on the teams involved in the eventual Olympic basketball quarterfinals, and wait, more Jonas!

Sebastian Pruiti at Grantland breaks down Big Val's strengths and weaknesses, while Lithuania's coach discusses the Valanciunases' playing time issues...

...which causes Raptors' President and GM Bryan Colangelo to rush to his defence.

See how this works?

We're not going to give BC too hard a time though, we're just as excited as he is to see the Lithuanian sensation come October.
