It's another summer for the National Team and this summer, despite the lack of a men's representative, Canada Basketball has a shot as sending a team to the Olympics. The Senior Women's National Team will be in Europe looking to play a few tune up games before the Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Turkey and there is a good chance for them to make it in there.
The ladies had departed for their run for London Monday but here is my latest podcast where I talk about the team and what I think their chances are of making an appearance in the Games for the first time since the turn of the century (bear in mind that it's a work in progress folks).
Also, in case you didn't see it yet, here is the Senior Women's promo video here ... Win the Day: Canadian Senior Women's Basketball Team - YouTube
This team looks to be the deepest of the the last few that have suited up in the last few summers and deep benches often give better chances to get to the Olympics. They have a shot and they deserve our support for their run.
Oh Canada people. This could be a banner summer for our ladies.
