Canada Downed By Croatia, Now It's Do Or Die

The Senior Women's National Team aren't getting into the Olympics just yet after a tough 59-56 loss to Croatia yesterday in the quarter finals of the women's Olympic qualifier. Canada had crushed Croatia in their only exhibition game before this tournament and it's too bad that the results could have been reversed now. This means that the team is now in do or die time.

Canada will now be facing Argentina today at 1:15pm EST to try and punch their way into the last berth for London.

Argentina is coming into this game against Canada having lost their last two games against the Czech Republic to end pool play and then to Turkey in the first qualifying round, both by 14 points. This is a good sign for the Canucks. And if you check out the head to head overall stats, Canada is significantly better than the Argentinians ... on paper.

Today will be the biggest game of the team's summer. A loss here sends them home but a win has them advance to Sunday and keeps them in the hunt for the final spot in London.

I'm expecting the latter by the way.
