So it looks like there will be a Canadian frontcourt playing in the Las Vegas desert this coming NC-Double-Eh college season.
McDonald's All American Anthony Bennett announced yesterday that he'll be suiting up for the UNLV Runnin' Rebels next season putting to rest the long debate to where he was heading. Narrowing down the schools to UNLV and Oregon after waiting out the year to make his choice late in the signing period, Bennett can now focus on getting fitted for his new red, white and black jersey.
Bennett committing now puts to former Canadian All Americans on the team. Khem Birch transferred there midway through last season and will be eligible around December. This will probably be the best Canuck forward combo in college basketball and have the makings of the best combo in recent history.
The returning of standout sophomore transfer Mike Moser to the Rebels plus the addition of Bennett to an already returning good team and possible top 25 recruiting class should make UNLV a team to watch next season.
Bennett will be reunited with former Findlay Prep teammate Carlos Lopez also.
