Natalie Achonwa and Notre Dame Look to Be Crowned Champs in Tonight's NC-Double-Eh Tournament Schedule

It's now down to the last game of the NCAA women's basketball season and we have a Canadian on the verge of helping her team get a title. We saw Kyle Wiltjer get crowned champ with his Kentucky teammates last night and Stefan Nastic and Dwight Powell for Stanford last week, Will Natalie Achonwa be our fourth Canuck to earn an honor tonight ...

And here is where the women are playing today ...

8:30pm Baylor vs. Notre Dame

In what was easily the best women's NCAA game I watched all season, Notre Dame mounted an incredible comeback to win in overtime over a very, very good UConn team on Sunday. Now the Irish face the juggernaut that is Baylor for all the chips. In the win, Natalie Achonwa played well tallying a season high 27 minutes and going for 8 points, 7 rebounds and 3 steals. I think in tonight's game, her role will be incredibly vital for a possible Irish win. Notre Dame has been playing with four backcourt players for the most part much of the season and Achonwa in the game provides another post presence for her team and against the Lady Bears they'll need it. Stanford, with their great frontcourt sister act of Chiney and Nnemkadi Ogwumike, tried use a constant double-team defense on Baylor's Brittany Griner which kept her from scoring but the rest of the team can light it up. This will be an incredibly tough match up everywhere for Irish if their attention if focused solely on Griner in the post. I would expect Achonwa to be in the game early and often if anything to help body up on Griner and provide a little extra enforcement in the paint. For all the marbles, look for Notre Dame to pull all the stops for this win and possible title.
