NBA Power Tankings - Cavs Climb Into Fourth

Anthonydavistankrank_medium

With only two nights left on the 2011-12 NBA schedule, we thought we should do another round of our NBA Power Tankings.

The Raptors of course didn't play last night, but some of TO's lottery competitors did with the the Sacramento Kings, Golden State Warriors and New Orleans Hornets all seeing action.

The Kings loss puts them slightly behind the Cavs in the race for Anthony Davis, although with two games left to Sacramento's one, Cleveland can fall back behind Sacto with another win. (And considering they take on the Wizards tonight, that's quite possible.)

(Based on Hollinger Playoff Odds from Wednesday, April 25.)

Toronto tangles with the Nets tomorrow in a game that will at worst decide sixth place in the AD chase, and at best, could see the Raps land with the same record as New Orleans, Sacramento and Cleveland at 22 and 44.

If that occurs, the Raps would finish fifth as they can't catch Charlotte or Washington, and have won their season series against Cleveland and New Orleans. That doesn't mean that Raps fans shouldn't be hoping for a loss tomorrow night, but at best TO leapfrogs Sacramento into fifth at present.

The good news is that Sacto's final game is against an LA Lakers club that will likely be resting its key players.
