The NC-Double-Eh Schedule - Mar. 2

Today we have a few conference tournaments beginning today and some will have very big NCAA Tournament implications. See who's playing today, men and women that is, all right here ...

Here is where the men are playing today ...

2:00pm Citadel vs. Western Carolina - Western Carolina seniors Harouna Mutombo and Keaton Cole are now playing in their last post season conference tournament and you can bet that they are going to leave it out on the floor. Citadel is one of the weaker teams in the Southern Conference and in their only meeting this season the Catamounts blew them out 70-53. In that game Mutombo went for 24 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists; Cole went for 15 points on five treys with 3 rebounds and 3 steals. This could be the game that gets the team to start a role into an automatic bid if the seniors can replicate those numbers.

6:00pm William & Mary vs. Northeastern

6:00pm Youngstown State vs. Detroit

7:00pm Tennessee Tech vs. Murray State

7:00pm Harvard @ Columbia - Harvard's Laurent Rivard has not shot the ball well in the last couple of weeks. Actually he hasn't shot the ball all that much. He's only attempted 23 shots in his last five games and he's connected on 10 of them. Could this be the game that he has another breakout in time for the post season?

7:00pm Dartmouth @ Cornell

9:30pm Canisius vs. Niagara

And here is where the women are playing today ...

9:30am Iona @ Fairfield

11:30am Siena vs. Manhattan

11:30am Michigan vs. Ohio State

12:00pm Providence vs. Syracuse - Syracuse's Kayla Alexander was announced as a Big East Conference 2nd Team selection yesterday and it was more than well deserved. With an at-large bid likely hanging in the balance for the Orange in this conference tournament, I would think that Alexander will be looking to lead them past Providence. The Friars will be looking to play spoiler I'm sure but if Alexander has the game that she's capable of having, this could be a cakewalk. If not then this could be a lot closer than it needs to be for the ‘Cuse.

1:55pm Nebraska @ Iowa

3:30pm Niagara vs. Loyola (MD)

5:00pm Portland vs. San Diego

5:00pm George Washington @ Duquesne - Duquesne's Wumi Agunbiade is coming off being named to an Atlantic-10 All Conference team this week and with this being the first game in the conference tournament I would expect to see her look to make a splash.

6:00pm Minnesota vs. Penn State

6:05pm Vermont vs. Albany

7:00pm Columbia @ Harvard

7:00pm Penn @ Brown

8:00pm Marquette vs. Cincinnati - Marquette's Katherine Plouffe was announced as an honorable mention in All Big East selection yesterday and I'm sure this could be a motivator for her for this game. The Eagles will likely need to win this conference tournament so Plouffe's full game should be on display tonight for the team to get past this Cincinnati team.
