After another great week for St. Bonaventure, Andrew Nicholson earned a second consecutive Atlantic 10 Player of the Week and earning a second consecutive nod as NC-Double-Eh Player of the Week ...

Player of the Week

Andrew Nicholson - Senior, St. Bonaventure

Andrew Nicholson continued with his stellar play last week helping split two games for St. Bonaventure. Over those two games, he averaged 25.5 points, 9 rebounds, an assist and 3.5 blocks in 34.5 minutes of action. He shot 20-of-30 from the floor, including a perfect 4-of-4 from the three, and 7-of-8 from the line to not only earn his second consecutive Atlantic 10 Player of the Week honors but the NC-Double-Eh Player of the Week honors as well.

In St. Bonaventure's tough 76-70 loss to Temple at home Feb. 15, Nicholson was brilliant in defeat going for 19 points, 5 rebounds, 4 blocks, 2 assists and a steal in 32 minutes. He shot 8-of-15 from the field, hitting both his trey attempts, and making his only free throw.

In the Bonnies next game on Saturday against Rhode Island, Nicholson was went for his fifth double-double of the season going for 32 points and 13 rebounds while adding 3 blocks as well in 37 minutes. He was 12-of-15 from the floor, again making his two three point shots, and a near perfect 6-of-7 from the line in the 81-61 win at home on Senior Day. On the season, Nicholson is averaging 16.5 points, 7.9 rebounds and 1.8 blocks in 28.8 minutes. He's shooting .570 from the floor, a respectable .296 from the three and .763 from the foul line. He currently leads the team in scoring, rebounding, blocks and field goal percentage. His averages currently rank him in the top ten in the Atlantic 10 Conference in scoring (5th), rebounding (4th), field goal percentage (5th), blocks (5th) and defensive rebounds (2nd with 5.5).

Honorable Mention: Melvin Ejim, Iowa State - 13.5 ppg, 10.5 rpg, 4 apg, 1 spg, 1 bpg in 29 mpg, 11-of-17 FGs, 1-of-2 3PT FGs, 4-of-6 FTs vs. Baylor and Oklahoma.

Rookie of the Week

Myck Kabongo - Freshman, Texas

Freshman Myck Kabongo is looking like he's settling into the game and last week he looked like a vet. In Texas' two games last week, Kabongo averaged 17.5 points, 4 rebounds, 4.5 assists and a steal in 33 minutes of action. He shot 11-of-19 from the floor, 4-of-6 from the three point line and 9-of-11 from the foul line to earn not only the Big 12 Conference Rookie of the Week but also the NC-Double-Eh Rookie of the Week as well.

In Texas' 69-58 road win over Oklahoma on Valentine's Day, Kabongo had 13 points, 4 rebounds, 7 assists and a steal in 36 minutes. He shot 3-of-7 from the field, 1-of-2 from behind the arc and a perfect 6-of-6 from the line.

In the Longhorns' next game four days later against Oklahoma State, Kabongo went for a career high 22 points in the 90-78 road loss. He shot 8-of-12 from the floor, 3-of-4 from the three and 3-of-5 from the foul line while also contributing 4 rebounds, 2 assists and a steal in 30 minutes of action.

For the season, Kabongo's averaging 10.3 points, 3.2 rebounds, 5 assists and 1.2 steals in 29.5 minutes. He's shooting .436 from the floor, .390 from the three and .662 from the line. He currently leads the team in assists and is third in steals. His averages place him in the top fifteen in the Big 12 Conference in assists (5th), steals (15th) and assist-to-turnover ratio (6th with 1.58).
