Toronto Raptors guard Kyle Lowry, who has been out since mid-December with a partially torn triceps muscle, will not play for the Raptors on Wednesday night as they travel to play the San Antonio Spurs.
Lowry, in his seventh year in the league out of Villanova, had averaged 15.8 points per game prior to his injury. He had also averaged 5.8 assists and 5.6 rebounds per game in 16 games while shooting 40.6 percent from the field. The Raptors do not want to rush Lowry back without practice, which is why they are holding him out of this game at least:
Medical staff wants Lowry to get in at least another practice before he returns. He will not dress for tonight game at SA. #Raptors

Since Lowry has been injured, Jose Calderon has taken over point guard duties and has averaged 11.2 points with 7.9 assists in his last 10 games played while shooting 47.1 percent from the field. In the Raptors' first game against the Spurs, Calderon scored nine points and recorded nine assists as the Raptors lost 111-106.
